A new chapter starts with rejection
“Authors by the hundreds can tell you stories by the thousands of those rejection slips before they found a publisher that was willing to ‘gamble’ on an unknown.” It’s a Zig Ziglar quote that fits my current situation. Having just received the first (very nice) rejection of my manuscript, I think I’m in good company.
“I really enjoyed your sharp voice and excellent use of dialogue!” the literary agent wrote, before telling me that she didn’t think she was the right person to represent my memoir. She encouraged me to continue submitting it. And I am.
It’s both exciting and daunting to begin this new chapter, but I’m ready. Thanks for coming along on the publishing journey.
