In the mid-1990s, I teamed up with broadcasting legend Dave Baum and learned how to ‘tell it like it is’ through media training and presentation skills training. Media Training
The media have a job to do and if you know what you’re doing, so do you — you have a message to share. Media training focuses on defining and understanding your audience/s, creating effective messages and then effectively conveying them.
Sounds easy. It’s not. But when you understand how reporters, editors and producers think, you’ll learn how to ‘win’ with your communications.
Presentation Skills
The best presentations are of course the memorable ones. And in each of those, there is a format and a process that makes them go from good to great. Yes, storytelling is crucial but many other elements matter, like delivering your opener in :60 to :90 seconds, understanding your options as a presenter and knowing how you can influence audience behavior.
